PERTinent Updates:
Issue 14

Welcome to the fourteenth monthly email of PERTinent Updates featuring a select group of articles for your review. We aim to inform and update our members with the most recent major developments in the fields of PERT/VTE so that we in the PERT Consortium can continue to be at the leading edge of improving care for this vulnerable and overlooked group of patients.

A special congratulations goes out to Dr. Elbadawi whose research on “The impact of a multi-specialty team for high-risk pulmonary embolism on resident and fellow education” was first presented as a poster at our 4th annual PERT Scientific Symposium. PERT is committed to encouraging and recognizing research from young faculty and trainees.

Other articles from this month’s
From Our Own include…

• A pulmonary embolism response team (PERT) approach; initial experience from the Cleveland Clinic

• Epidemiology, Pathophysiology, and Natural History of Pulmonary Embolism

• The Role of the Pulmonologist in a Pulmonary Embolism Response Team (PERT): A Time to Come on Stage

• Evaluation of the pulmonary embolism rule out criteria (PERC rule) in children evaluated for suspected pulmonary embolism
