STORM-PE Trial

The PERT Consortium™ is thrilled to announce our partnership with Penumbra, Inc. on STORM-PE.

STORM-PE is a prospective, multi-center, randomized controlled trial evaluating anticoagulation alone vs anticoagulation plus Indigo Mechanical Aspiration for the treatment of Intermediate High Risk PE.

The STORM-PE trial will enroll patients with intermediate-high risk acute PE and will compare the efficacy, safety, quality of life and functional outcomes of mechanical aspiration thrombectomy vs treatment with anticoagulation alone. Through this collaboration, Penumbra and The PERT Consortium™ aim to advance the understanding of the role of mechanical aspiration thrombectomy in the management of acute PE and to improve the outcomes for patients with this life-threatening condition.
