Special Guest Host
Segun Oduolowu is a journalist and TV Host. He is currently the Host of The Boston Globe Today, a 5-day-a-week news program in collaboration with the Boston Globe newspaper. Before that he was the NYC Correspondent for PEOPLE Magazine, The TV Show, Host of the syndicated newsmagazine, The List, and has appeared regularly on Access Hollywood Live, The Wendy Williams Show. Segun has contributed to international programs for CNN, the BBC and Deutsche Welle and also was a recurring contributor to the long-running HLN series Dr. Drew on Call.
On April 22, 2023 at the landmark Boston Park Plaza we held our second annual Gala – an evening to celebrate our tremendous impact over the past decade as we continue to change the paradigm of care for Pulmonary Embolism (PE) and raise funds for future endeavors.
Pulmonary Embolism represents a major public health crisis, affecting nearly one million people yearly in the US alone and causing almost as many deaths as stroke. Pulmonary emboli are ubiquitous and can strike world class athletes, travelers, pregnant women, patients undergoing chemotherapy, post-surgical patients, and even healthy individuals. Additionally, because PE often “masquerades” as other illnesses, it can be misdiagnosed and under-treated by the medical community.
The evening was dedicated to all those who have experienced a pulmonary embolism or been affected by a loved one, friend, or colleague with PE.
