David Jimenez, MD, PhD

David Jiménez is Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Alcalá, Madrid, Spain, and Chief of the Venous Thromboembolism Programme at the Ramón y Cajal Hospital in Madrid, where he serves as Chief of the Respiratory Department. Dr Jimenez has participated as Principal Investigator of several randomized clinical trials on venous thromboembolisim prophylaxis and treatment. He is also a member of several journal editorial boards, and is a peer reviewer for New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, JAMA, the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, Thrombosis and Haemostasis, or Chest. Dr. Jimenez is co-chairman of the 10th edition of the Antithrombotic and Thrombolytic Therapy ACCP guidelines, coauthor of the 2019 ESC Guidelines for the management of PE, and has been invited as a speaker at several national and international congresses and in a number of major universities worldwide.

F.A. (Erik) Klok is an Internist with a speciality in Vascular Medicine. He is a clinical staff member of the department of Medicine at the Leiden University Medical Center (Leiden, the Netherlands) and a visiting Professor at the Center for Thrombosis and Hemostasis of the University of Mainz (Mainz, Germany). His main research interests are diagnostic management of acute venous thrombosis as well as prediction and treatment of long term complications of venous thrombosis.

Matt Langston, MD

Matt Langston completed his medical training at the Loyola University Medical Center and is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care. He is the Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, NY, where he is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Clinical interests include pulmonary embolism response team, program development and medical education. A member of the PERT Consortium Educational Sub-committee from its inception, he is involved in a number of initiatives including PERTinent updates and the PERT webinar series.
